Cognitive behavioural coaching

In traditional coaching the participants shortly revert to habitual patterns at the conclusion of the coaching cycle. Thus, the challenge for coaching professionals is to enhance effectiveness with lasting behavioural change.

Cognitive Behavioural Coaching is a combination of coaching and psychology, and involves using questioning to encourage behaviour analysis and problem solving. It emphasises the links between your beliefs about a situation and how they affect your behaviour.

Often used in overcoming doubt and lack of confidence such as in the areas of presentations or meeting participation, it is also helpful in meeting the demands on subject matter experts who have to become leaders or those who recognise the difference their personal behaviour has on results.

We can begin examining and re-evaluating some of the less helpful thoughts and beliefs that may be hindering your performance, and start developing and trying out new and alternative viewpoints and behaviours that may be more effective.

In doing so, your emotional intelligence improves through self-awareness, self-management, social awareness and relationship management. If you want to learn more click here to contact me.
